If Utah fans had any questions about whether Larry Krystkowiak was the best man to be the Utes head coach as it makes the transition to the Pac-12, former Utes standout and current Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut is here to assuage all fears.
Bogut, who does a YouTube session called "Bogeys Rant," gives his thoughts on Krystkowiak after spending a couple NBA seasons with him. Bogut played for the Milwaukee Bucks while Krystkowiak was both an assistant and head coach for the team.
"I think college is the perfect place for Larry Krystkowiak," Bogut said during the video. "Not saying that he can't again coach the pros, but I think college is a better suited environment for him."
Bogut goes on to talk about Krystkowiak as a defensive coach and how players who defend well and get on loose balls are more apt to get playing time.
Bogut mentions that Krystkowiak's NBA experience should help him with recruiting, which should help attract better talent. Bogut, and Australian-born players, also said he spoke to Krystkowiak a couple weeks ago about getting an international pipeline to Utah and said that he'd be willing to help the program should it need assistance identifying players from Australia.
"There's a lot of international kids all over the world that look to come over for college and people just don't give them a chance," Bogut said. "It's gotten a little bit better, obviously since myself coming over. Australia is a huge pipeline."
Finally, Bogut stresses staying patient as the Utes make the transition to the Pac-12.
The video is 10 minutes long, which makes sense since Bogut has some free time since he decided to end his season early with elbow surgery. But if you're a diehard Utah fan or a diehard Larry Krystkowiak fan, this video is worth the time.
