Josh Harrellson Takes Center Stage for UK

To a man, No. 11 Kentucky holds an advantage over No. 22 Louisville at every position. If there were an argument, it would come at the five spot, where the Wildcats have struggled to find consistent scoring, defense or rebounding.

On Friday, Josh Harrellson ended that argument.

The 6-foot-10 senior scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Kentucky (10-2) to a 78-63 win over Louisville Friday in the KFC Yum! Center. Brandon Knight led all scorers with 25, but Harrellson was the difference.

Harrellson -- who came into the game averaging just over five points a game -- did it all for the Wildcats, even stepping out and draining a long three to give Kentucky its largest lead at 44-26 early in the second half.

Much of his production was a direct result of the attention paid by Louisville (10-2) to Terrence Jones, who finished with just 12 points but had five assists, many of them being backdoor looks to a wide open Harrellson. He also was the recipient of consecutive back door alley-oops late in the game which Louisville, inexplicably, failed to defend.
